Overview

The engine is starting. You have completed your detailed ground briefing learning about your plane and how it flies. You have gone over the pre-flight checklist with your instructor to make sure all is in readiness. The engine revs up and you are rolling down the runway. Then you lift into the air. The ground looks familiar, yet in a way you have never seen before. With the help of your FAA-certified flight instructor you pilot the plane where you have never been before, in the sky. For 1-1/2 hours you cannot stop smiling as you see things from a whole new perspective. You wish you never have to land, but you do... Until the next time.

When do the Flight Gift Certificates expire?

They expire after 6 months by default or in accordance with applicable laws in the state in which certificate is to be redeemed, which ever is greater. Extensions are available.

Are there any requirements?

Yes. The recipient must be at least 18 years old. There is no maximum age. The recipient must also be a U.S. Citizen and may need to provide proof of citizenship at the time of the flight. Exceptions to these rules are up to the flight school operating the flight. Please contact us for more information.

Can the recipient bring a passenger?

This is up to the participating flight school. Note that some schools operate 2 seat aircraft or have a policy against passengers on training flights. Please contact us and we will check with the school for you.

Is this safe?

Flying is very safe. However, you should be aware that the recipient will be flying in a light aircraft. Also, GiveAFlight.com does not operate the flight lessons. Flights are operated by independently owned and operated flight schools, who are regulated by the FAA.
